Longing in Vermilion
This is a portrait of a lover, looking over her shoulder to the observer, longing. This piece was accomplished using the Zorn’s limited palette. Using vermilion red, yellow ocher, titanium white, and mars black, a range of tones can be accomplished that bring this piece together. What made this challenging for me was not using blue. I like to think of this painting as a love letter to Triss Merigold from the Witcher series and how I envisioned her and her hair.
